Book Review: Inside Chanakya's Mind by Radhakrishnan Pillai

Name of the book: Inside Chanakya's Mind
Name of the author: Radhakrishnan Pillai
Length of the book: 212 pages

A good amount of our day is spent 'thinking'. But do we really know how to think? Not just to think, but to think in the right way? These are a few questions the author raises as he introduces us to the world of Chanakya. 'Inside Chanakya's Mind' is the latest book in the series by Radhakrishnan Pillai. In this series, the writer tries to break it down to a level where we can incorporate these learnings into our everyday lives.

Pillai not only raises questions but also tries to answer these, by listing down ways we can start combating these issues that pose as the elephant in the room. Not all advice in the book deals with problems, but some just focus on the improvement in their methods.

Starting off with Aanvikshiki, Pillai says that the process of thoughts can be taught. The author in his own peculiar way describes the different types of thinking, explaining each element with a story that is relate-able in the context of our Indian society. Whilst doing so, Radhakrishnan Pillai beautifully succeeds, by making references to the works of Chanakya from the Arthashastra.

Summing it all, the book acts as a really apt self-help guide, that could be useful all professionals. Not only as a solution to dealing with everyday problems, but rather improve individuals which would help hone their skills. One can achieve overall development if he follows the path shown by Chanakya here.

The rating for this book show 3 out of 5 as I'm not big on self-help books. Also, certain terminologies from the book might leave you in a fix. But he who masters them, can easily change the course of the wind.
